Review Wardah Lightening Oil-Infused Micellar Water: Kulit Bersih, Lembap, dan Kalem

Sebenarnya aku sempat menghindari micellar water, gara-gara beberapa micellar water yang pernah aku coba di masa kuliah selalu bikin kulit drama, ada yang bikin perih, ada yang bikin kering, ada juga yang rasanya kayak lengket. Akhirnya aku nyerah dan beralih ke cleansing balm atau cleansing oil, karena oil-based as first cleanser itu lebih disarankan, katanya. Tapi jujur aja, despite being very effective at removing make-up, aku nggak terlalu suka feel-nya di kulit yang berat dan tentu saja oily, sementara aku emang agak picky soal tekstur skincare (yes, picky banget). Apalagi aku tuh tipe orang yang sehari-hari cuma pakai sunscreen dan lip tint, tapi tetep pengen double cleanse yang nyaman dan cepat. Nah, once upon a time aku ketemu Wardah Lightening Oil-Infused Micellar Water. First impression aku ke nama produknya: Wow micellar water pakai oil? Menarik nih! Kalau micellar water gak cocok, cleansing oil gak cocok, kalo gabungan keduanya mungkin cocok ya?

Aku awalnya coba beli yang ukuran 55 ml buat coba-coba. Ternyata, produk ini bikin aku akhirnya menemukan jawaban dari semua kekhawatiranku, bestie! Gimana nggak? Ini micellar water yang beda, ada oil-nya tapi nggak bikin greasy, bersih banget, dan yang paling penting adalah kulitku nggak ngamuk! Jadi buat kamu yang gak pengen micellar water biasa atau gak suka pakai cleansing balm atau cleansing oil, boleh banget lanjutin baca review ini. Siapa tau kita sefrekuensi!

(I used to avoid micellar water because some of the ones I tried back in college always caused drama with my skin, some stung, some made my skin dry, and others felt sticky. So, I gave up and switched to cleansing balms or oils since oil-based first cleansers are supposedly better. But honestly, even though they’re really effective at removing makeup, I wasn’t a fan of how heavy and oily they felt on my skin, especially since I’m kinda picky about skincare textures (yeah, I’m really picky). And, I’m the type of person who only wears sunscreen and lip tint on a daily basis, but I still want a quick and comfy double cleanse. Then, once upon a time, I stumbled upon Wardah Lightening Oil-Infused Micellar Water. My first thought: Wow, micellar water with oil? Interesting! If micellar water doesn’t work, and cleansing oil doesn’t work, maybe combining both will work for me?

So, I grabbed the 55 ml size to give it a try. And guess what? This product ended up answering all my concerns, bestie! How? Well, this micellar water is different, it has oil in it but doesn’t feel greasy, it cleanses really well, and most importantly, my skin didn’t freak out! Ini micellar water yang nggak main-main, karena formula skincare-infused-nya yang lebih dari sekadar pembersih. Teksturnya ringan enggak bikin risih, tapi bahan-bahannya juara banget buat kulit. Produk ini punya bahan-bahan menarik yang bikin tekstur dan efeknya beda dari micellar water lainnya.  Ada Macadamia Oil yang mirip banget sama lipid alami kulit kita, jadi dia bantu banget menjaga skin barrier. Terus ada Soybean Oil sama Avocado Oil duo ingredients yang kerjaannya melembapkan dan bikin kulit tetap elastis.

Nah, yang bikin makin keren, ada Bladderwrack Seaweed Extract (ekstrak rumput laut) yang kaya antioksidan buat menenangkan kulit, dan Wheat Bran Extract sumber ceramides dan ferulic acid yang memperkuat skin barrier. Buat yang kulitnya cenderung berminyak atau berjerawat, tenang, ada Linoleic Acid yang membantu menjaga kelembapan sekaligus baik buat jerawat, dan Bisabolol dari chamomile yang bikin kulit merah-merah jadi lebih kalem.

Soal tekstur? Ringan banget! Cyclopentasiloxane, Isohexadecane, dan Dicaprylyl Carbonate bikin produk ini gampang banget nyapu makeup tanpa ninggalin rasa kering atau lengket. Buat pembersihan yang gentle, ada Decyl Glucoside, surfaktan ramah kulit sensitif.

Yang menarik lagi ada Benzalkonium Chloride dan Cetrimonium Bromide yang jarang dipakai di micellar water, secara teori mereka berpotensi menyebabkan iritasi (tapi secara teori ya, kita gak tahu gimana produk ini diformulasikan). Kayaknya sih, mereka juga berfungsi untuk menjaga ketahanan produk dan mencegah bakteri berkembang, jadi meski ada banyak ekstrak tanaman dan bahan air-oil, produk ini tetep awet dan stabil. Overall, formula ini cukup seimbang dengan banyak bahan menenangkan, jadi cocok buat kulit normal sampai oily!

(This micellar water is no joke, thanks to its skincare-infused formula that does more than just cleanse. The texture is light and doesn’t feel bothersome, yet the ingredients are amazing for the skin. It has Macadamia Oil, which is very similar to the skin’s natural lipids, so it helps protect the skin barrier. Then, there's the Soybean Oil and Avocado Oil duo that work to hydrate and keep the skin elastic.

What makes it even cooler is the Bladderwrack Seaweed Extract, packed with antioxidants to calm the skin, and Wheat Bran Extract, which is rich in ceramides and ferulic acid that strengthens the skin barrier. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, don’t worry, there’s Linoleic Acid to help maintain moisture and fight acne, plus Bisabolol from chamomile to soothe any redness.

As for the texture? Super light! Cyclopentasiloxane, Isohexadecane, and Dicaprylyl Carbonate make it easy to remove makeup without leaving your skin dry or sticky. For a gentle cleanse, it also contains Decyl Glucoside, a surfactant that’s skin-friendly, even for sensitive skin.

What’s also interesting is the inclusion of Benzalkonium Chloride and Cetrimonium Bromide, which aren’t commonly used in micellar waters. While they could cause irritation (theoretically), we’re not sure how the formula balances it all out. But these ingredients likely help preserve the product and prevent bacterial growth, and keep it stable even with all the plant extracts and water-oil mix. Overall, the formula is pretty well-rounded with plenty of soothing ingredients, it's a perfect for normal to oily skin!)

PENGALAMAN PRIBADI

Buat performa cleansingnya, menurutku produk ini bisa banget diandalkan. Dia ampuh mengangkat makeup waterproof, termasuk maskara waterproof yang biasanya ngeselin banget karena susah dihapus, dan juga lip product yang stain-nya sering nempel di tengah bibir.

Soal efek di kulit, produk ini bikin kulit tetap lembap. Sebenarnya klaimnya sih nggak perlu dibilas, tapi aku pribadi tetap lanjut double cleansing pakai face wash karena udah kebiasaan aja. Uniknya, biasanya kalau pakai micellar water lain, kalau gak langsung cuci muka, kulitku langsung kayak ketarik kering. Tapi pernah nih aku iseng habis bersihin makeup, bukannya langsung cuci muka, malah lanjut cuci piring dulu. Dan ternyata kulitku tetap terasa lembap, gak ada rasa ketarik sama sekali. (Ini pengalaman pribadi yang bikin aku makin yakin produk ini cocok buat aku.)

Dari pertama nyobain ukuran kecil 55 ml, lalu 105 ml, sampai akhirnya 240 ml, gak ada reaksi aneh sama sekali di kulitku. Nggak ada kemerahan, nggak ada rasa perih, gatal, atau iritasi lainnya. (Gila sih, siapa pun formulatornya, aku mau sungkem, cocok banget buat kulitku yang picky ini.) Dipakai buat area mata dan bibir pun aman. Gak perih di mata, dan bibir juga gak kering setelah dibersihin. Padahal biasanya area mata dan bibir itu lumayan sensitif, kan.

Untuk tekstur, aku suka banget: campuran micellar water dan oil-nya tuh pas. Cocok banget buat aku yang gak cocok micellar water, tapi kurang suka cleansing oil. Ringan tapi tetap efektif. (Jangan lupa harus dikocok dulu sebelum pakai, biar air dan oil-nya nyampur sempurna.) Kalau soal klaim mencerahkan, aku pribadi gak bisa kasih komentar lebih, karena aku gak pakai rangkaian Wardah Lightening Series lainnya. Tapi kalau soal membersihkan dan melembapkan tanpa iritasi, ini udah terbukti banget di aku.

Oh iya, kenapa dulu aku sempat beli yang 105 ml dulu, padahal udah cocok? Karena yang ukuran 240 ml ini susah banget dicari, bestie! Sering sold out di official store, dan di toko offline dekat rumahku malah gak ada. Jadi mau gak mau, sempat pakai yang 105 ml dulu sambil nunggu stok ukuran besar balik lagi.

(For cleansing performance, I think this product is super reliable. It does an amazing job of removing waterproof makeup, including those stubborn waterproof mascaras that are such a pain to take off, and even lip products with stains that usually stick in the middle of the lips.

As for the effect on the skin, this product keeps my skin feeling hydrated. The claim is that you don’t need to rinse it off, but I still follow up with a face wash for double cleansing, just out of habit. What’s interesting is that with other micellar waters, if I don’t wash my face right after, my skin feels tight and dry. But once, I got lazy and didn’t wash my face right away, I ended up washing the dishes first. And surprisingly, my skin still felt moisturized, with no tightness at all. (This personal experience really made me confident that this product works for me.)

From trying the small 55 ml size to the 105 ml, and finally the 240 ml, my skin has had no weird reactions. No redness, no stinging, itching, or irritation. (Honestly, whoever formulated this, I’m in awe. It’s perfect for my picky skin.) It’s safe for the eyes and lips too. No stinging in the eyes, and my lips don’t feel dry after cleaning them. That’s a win since those areas are usually pretty sensitive, right?

I love the texture: the mix of micellar water and oil is just right. It’s perfect for me since I’m not a fan of micellar waters usually, but cleansing oils don’t quite work for me either. It’s light but still super effective. (Just remember to shake it before using to make sure the water and oil mix properly.) As for the brightening claim, I can’t comment on that because I don’t use the full Wardah Lightening Series. But for cleaning and moisturizing without irritation, it’s definitely proven to work for me.

Oh, and why did I buy the 105 ml size first even though I knew it worked? Because the 240 ml size is hard to find, bestie! It’s often sold out in the official store, and the offline stores near me don’t have it. So I had to make do with the 105 ml while waiting for the larger size to be back in stock.)
